OC Fair Fun!

August 14, 2016

So yesterday, my friend and I rode the OC Fair Express down to the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa. Riding the bus is so convenient because not only do you save on gas money, but you also receive a voucher for $3 admission into the fair! If you know me at all, then you know that I am all about saving money haha!

Anyways, I always attend the county fairs for one thing: food. The deep-fried cookie dough at Chicken Charlie's never disappoints, and you can't really go wrong with a Great Western sausage from Juicy's. This year I even got to watch a donut-eating contest. All of the contestants were blindfolded and had to eat a donut that was hanging from a stick! I was *this* close to entering, but I guess I'll just have to wait and prepare for next year lol.

Today's the last day of the OC Fair if you're interested in going. But if you can't make it, the LA County Fair will be back in Pomona in a couple of weeks! I'm so glad that it's finally fair season!

Check out photos from my last visit to the OC fair here!

Sidecar Trips

December 6, 2014
I haven't been to Sidecar Doughnuts in quite awhile (see my last post here). Their huckleberry doughnut was delicious as always.

The OC Fair

July 19, 2014

Let me start this off by stating that I am an LA County Fair kind of girl. I go multiple times every year during its run and hold A LOT of favoritism towards it. But yesterday, I had the opportunity to go to the OC Fair for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! First of all, the deals were just incredible! I only spent a total of $25!

$4 round trip bus fare
$3 admission
$2 crepe sample
$2 deep-fried oreos
$2 corn on the cob
$2 smoothie sample
$10 hot dog - I could've lived off of all of the $2 food deals, but I LOVE Pink's hot dogs!

So yes, I pretty much ate my way through the entire fair and it was amazing! But besides that, I really enjoyed all of the exhibits, particularly their enormous photography gallery (sorry LA county, but they've got you beat on this one), all of the well-decorated (and mouth-watering) food displays, and their gorgeous flower collections. The OC Fair runs until August 10th, so if you get the chance to go I'd highly recommend taking the OC Fair Express to save on money (and gas!). Enjoy all of those deep-fried goodies! :)

Sidecar Doughnuts

May 26, 2014

This morning I made my first trip out to Sidecar Doughnuts in Costa Mesa. They have some of the most unique and delicious flavors that I've ever tasted! I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner. I picked up a Huckleberry, Mexican Chocolate, and Butter & Salt doughnut and savored each one. Can't wait to try more of their flavors!

Calligraphy Class // Heritage Mercantile Co.

February 15, 2014
Today I had the pleasure of attending a beginner's calligraphy workshop taught by the amazing Jenna
Rainey of Mon Voir. The class was held at Heritage Mercantile Co. over in Costa Mesa, CA. The store was gracious enough to provide everyone with a wonderful spread of yummy snacks and drinks (mimosas, anyone?). Plus, Heritage Mercantile Co. is stocked with some pretty cool items! I've been eyeing their pillows and throws for awhile now.

The workshop itself was really informative and just so much fun! Check out Jenna's beautiful calligraphy skills in that last photo. I'm definitely still a beginner, but hopefully I'll be able to write as elegantly as she does someday. In the meantime, if anyone wants their name written down in pretty calligraphy, hit me up! I need the practice (haha).
