The Pie Hole: Orange

December 26, 2016
This is going to be my last blog post of 2016. Where did the year go? So I thought that it'd only be fitting to feature one last dessert place. The Pie Hole in Orange County has been my new go-to spot for whenever I need a pick-me-up in the middle of the day. Their s'mores pie is divine (check it out below) and they also have a great selection of savory pies (that's the bacon hash breakfast hand pie above). I highly recommend stopping by if you're ever near one of their locations!

In other news, I'm hoping to take my blog back to more travel content in 2017. I've been focusing a lot on food and restaurants this past year (with good reason), but I want to get back to the stuff that matters the most to me. I'll be heading out of town this week and I can't wait to just get away with my camera. I want to go back to Orchid circa 2014, when I was just wandering around Paris without putting any pressure on myself to get certain shots. We'll see how this goes! Happy (early) New Year everyone!

A Christmas Fantasy

December 21, 2016
On Saturday I got to watch Disneyland's A Christmas Fantasy parade! So true story: one of the Toy Story floats broke down right in front of us! All of the dancers that were stuck behind it had to continue dancing their routines over and over and over until the float could get towed! They all had huge smiles on their faces the entire time, so major props to them for keeping it up!

Chelò Creamery

December 11, 2016
I've been eyeing Chelò Creamery on Instagram for quite awhile now. Yesterday I finally had the chance to try their famous rolled ice cream! The whole process is really interesting to watch! First, a liquid ice cream base is poured onto an anti-griddle and mixed around until it becomes frozen. Then they spread out the mixture into a thin, even layer. For the last step, a scraper tool is used to push the ice cream off of the anti-griddle and into little rolls!

Now I have to admit, I do think that their ice cream is a bit on the pricey side (mine was $7!). But I think that it's worth it to go at least once just to experience the whole novelty of rolled ice cream. It's definitely something that I've never seen before! Check out more photos from my visit below!
