Pismo Beach Pier

Last weekend I decided to take a spontaneous road trip up to the Central Coast. My first stop was Pismo Beach, which is about 3.5 hours away from where I live. It was so relaxing to just walk around the pier and people-watch for an hour or so. Plus, I spotted several people playing Pokémon Go (I was able to catch a Shellder, Ghastly, and Kakuna on the pier haha). I'll be posting more photos from my road trip soon!

OC Fair Fun!

So yesterday, my friend and I rode the OC Fair Express down to the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa. Riding the bus is so convenient because not only do you save on gas money, but you also receive a voucher for $3 admission into the fair! If you know me at all, then you know that I am all about saving money haha!

Anyways, I always attend the county fairs for one thing: food. The deep-fried cookie dough at Chicken Charlie's never disappoints, and you can't really go wrong with a Great Western sausage from Juicy's. This year I even got to watch a donut-eating contest. All of the contestants were blindfolded and had to eat a donut that was hanging from a stick! I was *this* close to entering, but I guess I'll just have to wait and prepare for next year lol.

Today's the last day of the OC Fair if you're interested in going. But if you can't make it, the LA County Fair will be back in Pomona in a couple of weeks! I'm so glad that it's finally fair season!

Honey & Butter

Honey & Butter recently set up shop at the Irvine Spectrum Center, and from what I can tell, they specialize in making super cute "creature" macarons, on top of regular macarons and macaron ice cream sandwiches. Disclaimer: I can't vouch for their desserts just yet, but hopefully I'll be able to try them soon!

The store is whimsically decorated with chalkboard walls, succulents, tsum tsums, and other recognizable character plushies. There's even a couple of very Instagram-worthy swing set benches for people to sit on! I'd love to get my hands on some of Honey & Butter's creature macarons the next time I'm down in Orange County. In the meantime, I'll just have to live vicariously through their super cute Instagram feed (click here to check it out!).
