Just looking at these photos makes me wish that I was back at the beach! On Saturday I drove down to San Diego with my family to hang out at Mission Beach for the day. It was so relaxing to just sit around doing absolutely nothing. My cousin and I did swim around in the ocean for awhile. That's also when I lost my sunglasses to the waves (yes, I was told not to wear them but I'm stubborn and didn't listen lol). Other than that I had the perfect beach day with my cousins!
Below is a short video that I put together for this post. Enjoy!
These are more photos from my visit to Cabrillo National Monument a couple of weeks ago (see the first round of photos here). There are so many places to explore (hiking trails, tide pools, the lighthouse, etc.) that you could easily spend an entire day wandering around! Let's just say that when I was there, I definitely got my exercise for the day haha!
Things have been pretty busy lately, but I'm hoping to fit in at least one mini-travel adventure sometime this month. I already have another NorCal trip planned for May! We'll see how the rest of April plays out...
I spent last Saturday in sunny San Diego touring an enormous aircraft carrier-turned-museum called the USS Midway. With over 60 exhibits, an inventory of 20+ restored aircraft, and a flight deck that spans more than 3 football fields in length, this museum had more than enough activities to fill up the afternoon. If you visit, make sure to get in line for the docent-led bridge tour up on the flight deck. You'll learn all sorts of facts about the USS Midway's history and get to walk through the carrier's control tower and flight navigation areas.
In other news:
+ How many of you have been listening to Missy Elliott non-stop ever since her epic Super Bowl appearance?? I know I'm not the only one. Seeing her perform was seriously like reliving my high school years! Excuse me while I continue to LOSE CONTROL.
+ I FINALLY updated the categories and cities sections of my blog! There's even an index of all of the museums, gardens, restaurants, and shops that I've visited! It took me forever to organize everything but I'm extremely happy with how it turned out.
+Travel tip of the day: Did you know that a lot of state tourism boards will mail out their travel guides to you for free? Just last week I received one from Explore Georgia and I have two more on the way from Travel Oregon and Experience Washington. They're a really great resource for planning out-of-state trips!
